At 7 years old, Karen Thatcher claimed her dream. "One day, I'm going to play on the best hockey team in the world," she professed to her parents. Two years ago, at age 24, she did so when the United States women's hockey team won a gold medal at the world championships. Then the team repeated the feat last year. But for Thatcher, the prophecy won't be completely...
